The Pittsburgh Pirates are controlled by Michael Mortimer.

These Pittsburgh Pirates were one of the 1996 OOSL expansion teams -- entering the OOSL National League as the Philadelphia Phillies. They played as the Philadelphia National League Franchise until 1998. With the disenfranchisement of the Pittsburgh Pirates at the end of 1998, the Philadelphia ballclub moved to Pittsburgh at the direction of the OOSL Commissioner, and took that team's nickname as their own for 1999 and the future. The old Philadelphia Phillies name will be carried on into the OOSL future as an OOSL American Association franchise comprised of half the players from the disbanded OOSL Minor League Pittsburgh Crawfords. The 1994-1998 Pittsburgh Pirates records can be found under the listing of the Disenfranchised OOSL Teams at OOSL Central. Hopefully this won't get any more confusing as time goes on!
